Volunteer Opportunities
Tutoring:
Help with homework in a subject you feel comfortable tutoring. Students in middle school, high school, and college come to U-Lead for homework help. While we are virtual, you will meet with students in Zoom breakout rooms to work on math, social studies, science, language arts, and other subject areas.
Help students study for the SAT, ACT, or Accuplacer college placement tests.
College prep:
Search for scholarships, help students apply for scholarships
Research colleges where students qualify to attend
Register for SAT or ACT
Assist with financial aid application (e.g., FAFSA, CSS/Profile)
Organize college visits
Contact colleges about their admissions and financial aid policies to build up our college information database and better advise students
Keep our college database updated regarding DACA/TPS/un(der)documented-friendly schools, as well as test-optional schools
Keep our database of summer programs updated for programs that high school students can apply to (e.g., QuestBridge)
Other ways to help U-Lead:
Organize outreach at high schools
Communications
Fundraising
Identify summer programs that we can encourage high school freshman, sophomore, and juniors to apply to (e.g., QuestBridge) and create.
