Melissa joined the U-Lead community in 2015 in response to the difficulties she witnessed her students at Cedar Shoals experience in reaching higher education. As an educator in the Athens area for the last 15 years, she is committed to ensuring that all students have access to post-secondary education. She earned her Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education from the University of Georgia.
